Good Evening Computech Tiger Families!
This is Principal Berrett sharing my last weekly messenger for the final week of school. By now, our students in cohorts A and B have had opportunities to return their books and receive their t-shirts. Posters commemorating our students this year have begun being distributed during lunch and are available in the main office and will continue to be distributed at lunch as well.
This week we have advisory on Monday morning from 9-9:30am on Teams and asynchronous work following for the remainder of the day. Our targeted cohort students are able to come from 9:30am-12:30pm. Tuesday through Friday we will continue with our regular schedules and A and B cohorts on campus. Friday we will have a slightly adjusted schedule, shortening our periods slightly in order to share a video during the last 30 minutes of the day to wrap up the school year. You can view that schedule on our website at computechstudents.com
For our students that are on campus, certificates and medallions will be given during the final period of the day on Wednesday and Thursday. Certificates are awarded for merit, honors, and high honors, for students with a 3.0 GPA, 3.5 GPA, and 4.0GPA respectively, and Principal’s Medallions are earned by maintaining a 4.0GPA for all quarters during the year. 7th graders receive a Bronze for their 7th grade year. 8th graders that did not have a 4.0 during their 7th grade year but maintained a 4.0GPA during their 8th grade year earn a Silver Principal’s Medallion, and students that maintained a 4.0GPA for both 7th and 8th grade years receive a Gold Medallion in their 8th grade year.
Our students that are in cohort C are able to return items to the office between 8am and 4pm Monday-Friday. We also have a drive through event for awards for our cohort C students. During that event, students can return any outstanding books or items, pickup items such as a poster, yard sign, or t shirt that they did not receive, and receive certificates and medallions they have earned. 8th grade students in cohort C have their drive through event on Thursday, June 10th from 5-7pm. 7th grade students in cohort C have their drive through event on Friday, June 11th from 5-7pm. Information, including a map, are included on our website at computechstudents.com on the main page as well as under announcements.
As a reminder, students that are remaining in Fresno Unified are able to keep their laptops during the summer. Please take good care of those devices as they will be what you will continue to use for the upcoming school year.
Our main office is open between 8am and 4pm Monday through Friday. If you are in need of support, you can call us at 457-2640. In the event that you are coming to the office, please park in the visitor’s lot directly in front of the office.
As this is my final weekly message, I would like to express how thankful I am to have been able to work with so many wonderful people at Computech. People are what make any organization great, and Computech is no exception. To the students that I have had the privilege to work with, thank you for your smiles, positive attitudes, caring nature, drive and determination to do great things. You bring joy to what we do. To our families that support our students and our school, thank you for your encouragement and support. Finally, I am confident that Computech will continue to be a great place because of incredible teachers and staff who work hard and give of themselves to help students to reach their potential. Thank you colleagues for your dedication and service to students. For those that are not aware, I will be moving to a position in College and Career Readiness in Fresno Unified, helping to create systems and partnerships to increase internship opportunities for students in Fresno Unified. I am excited about the work I will get to do, but will miss our Tiger Family dearly. I hope that you all have time to reflect over the things you were able to accomplish and overcome this year, and know that you can do hard things, and that there is greatness within you. Continue to give your best effort, work hard, and be kind to others, and amazing things will happen. It’s what Tigers do. Remember, once a Tiger, always a Tiger.
Have a great final week Tigers!
Special Modified Schedule follows below:
Good Evening Tiger Families,
This is Principal Berrett and I wanted to share a few items as we close out this school year. First, a thank you to all of our students and families for your perseverance and positivity despite challenges. We are proud of all of our Tigers, and grateful for your support during this school year.
As was mentioned previously, we do not hold promotions in Fresno Unified. It is customary for us to have an awards ceremony at the end of the year, but is restricted in current circumstances. However, we have a few items to share with our Tigers for a job well done this year.
For students that are in cohorts A and B on campus, these students have been turning in their books to the library and should have received a T-Shirt once they turned in their books. 8th grade students have been receiving a yard sign as well. Next week on Wednesday and Thursday, these students will receive a Poster that contains all of the names of the students here at Computech in a mural. We do not have a traditional yearbook this year, so this is a poster to memorialize all of our students here this year. At the end of the day on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, students that have earned certificates for Merit, Honors, and High Honors, as well as those that have earned Principal’s Medallions, will receive their awards through their last period class.
Students that are in Cohort C and have remained over distance will have a drive through event. Eighth grade students in cohort C have a drive through drop off and pickup at Computech on Thursday, June 10th between 5pm and 7pm. Seventh grade students in cohort C have a drive through drop off and pickup at Computech on Friday, June 11th between 5pm and 7pm. At that event, cohort C students will receive their posters, may return items such as textbooks, pick up their T-shirts, and receive any awards that they may have earned. We have included a map that provides directions for this event and we ask that all cars enter from Church and Fairview onto Belgravia and make a right turn through the West Field gates (see attached map).
If there are questions or concerns, as always, you can reach out to our office at 457-2640 Monday-Friday from 8am to 4pm.
Thank you and have a great evening!
