Good Evening Computech Tiger Families,
This is Principal Berrett, with your weekly update as we enter week 13 of the school year. You can find this communication on www.computechstudents.com under the “Announcements” tab. This week we will begin on Monday with even block schedule. Students will be attending periods 2, 4, 6, and 8 tomorrow, and then attending odd block periods on Tuesday. Wednesday there is no school in honor of Veteran’s Day, and we would like to thank all those that have served our country. Thursday we will resume with even block schedule and Friday will be odd periods.
The second quarter progress report period is coming to an end. District has shared that they plan on sending progress reports out next week to students’ Fresno Unified emails. Please review this communication with your student next week. As a reminder, parents can access their student’s grades at any time through the ATLAS Parent portal. There is a video tutorial that was placed on computechstudents.com under “For Parents” and then you can click on “Helpful Tips for Parents” to view the video. We highly encourage parents and students to look through assignments to make sure that students are demonstrating their learning. Please help to partner with us in our students’ success.
A reminder that Tutor.com is available outside of class hours. Students can access the service by logging into Clever and selecting tutor.com. Our ASES After School Program is available through Teams each day between 2:45 and 5:30pm. Students can utilize it at their convenience.
Thank you Leadership and Ms. Valdivia and all those who participated in our dress up days for Red Ribbon Week last week as we remind our students to avoid harmful drugs.
Fresno Unified is extending our online School of Choice Expo through the end of this week. Students can learn about the various magnet and pathway programs offered within our Fresno Unified schools. You can learn about them by going online to www.fresnounified.org/schoolchoice2020.
Great news, thanks to Mr. Vinson and our design students, we now have Computech spirit wear and gear available for purchase online. You can order items by going to computechstudents.com and clicking on the banner on the main page where it says “Student Store,” to order directly from our distributor.
A reminder that our Tiger Pantry also remains available to students that have needs, including clothing, hygiene items, and school supplies. That is found on our school website under “For Students.” To check out books from our Library, students can go to the Library tab on our website, or call or text our librarian, Mrs. Ward, at 559-549-3758.
Our office remains open between 8am and 4pm. If you are in need of support, you can call us at 457-2640.
I am grateful for the civility demonstrated by our students and families as election results came out. Thank you for remaining focused on learning and staying positive in your interactions. Regardless of individual perspectives, we have seen our students act with kindness and respect. In honor of Native American Heritage Month, your quote of the week from the Apache Tribe, “It is better to have less thunder in the mouth and more lightning in the hand.” May our actions speak much louder than our words in learning, improving, and serving. Have a Great Week and Go Tigers!
