Good Evening Computech Tiger Families,
This is Principal Berrett hoping that you have enjoyed your 3-day weekend. We are entering week 22 of the school year. As a reminder, this message is also available on our website at computechstudents.com under “Announcements.” You may have heard that there was a letter that was received this last week that may allow us to bring our small cohorts in earlier than originally expected. We are still working through safety protocols as a district and will be contacting families that were previously in our cohort on campus with information as we receive further direction.
As a reminder, just as today was a holiday, next Monday is also a holiday with no school assignments. This Tuesday, February 9th, students will attend odd period classes, 1, 3, 5, and 7. They will be attending even period classes on Wednesday, odd classes on Thursday, and even classes on Friday.
For students interested in participating in Tournament of Technology, Mr. Piffero and Mr. Vizthum are beginning to recruit teams of students. Please contact them if you are interested in participating in various technology competitions.
Families, Parent University has workshops that begin this week. Please see the attached flyer for links to workshops. Tuesday is how to create a Gmail account. Wednesday teaches about Social and Emotional Development, Thursday is about Positive Discipline, and Friday is about Accessing Atlas. We highly encourage families to attend these workshops as they provide information in how to support students and families.
School Site Council members, we will be meeting this week on February 10th at 6pm on Zoom at this link: https://tinyurl.com/z7ksltux.
Our Black Student Union Club meets every Tuesday at lunch, and is excited to share that we have guest speakers that will be joining us. One of those speakers is Robert Fox, retired Vice President of Student Services at Fresno City College, who was recently honored and will be speaking over Zoom on February 16th at 12:30pm the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88928913865?pwd=d1hUSnVsdkQ3TCtRTEZOMXFYcTBXZz09. We invite any and all students and family members that are interested to attend. You can contact Ms. Reedy, our BSU Advisor for more information.
Tutor.com is still available through Clever and our ASES After School Program is available through Teams each day between 2:45 and 5:30pm. We highly encourage students to use these resources.
Our Tiger Pantry is available to students that have needs, including clothing, hygiene items, and school supplies. That is found on our school website under “For Students.”
To check out books from our Library, students can go to the Library tab on our website, or call or text our librarian, Mrs. Ward, at 549-3758.
Our main office is open between 8am and 4pm Monday through Friday. If you are in need of support, you can call us at 457-2640. In the event that you are coming to the office, please call ahead and park in the visitor’s lot directly in front of the office.
In honor of Black History Month, our quote of the week comes from Harriet Tubman, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” Just as she did, we have opportunities to accomplish great things to make our lives and the lives of others better. Let’s consider how we can make the world a little better place each day. Have a great week Tigers!
